Sources and Title[edit]

I cannot readily find sources that support using "Logan murder"as the title of this article. I think a better title for this article might be the "Murder of Marjorie Logan", if the following historical article is anything to go by.

  • Schwartz, Mitchell M. (July 2022). "The Murder of Marjorie Church Logan" (pdf). villageflowerhill.org. Flower Hill, New York: Village of Flower Hill. Retrieved 15 March 2023.

The trouble I find with all the New York Times newspaper citations used in this article is that they are all behind a pay-wall. The same problem exists with Newsday and the Proquest sources. While the Wikipedia article claims that the murder and trial received "significant attention and coverage from the media", the cited sources do not support this claim, as only the New York Times and Newsday are cited. There is not a diversity of sources I would expect from this claim. Additionally, the dates of the cited sources all appear to be from the newspapers of the day, with nothing much more recent being cited. Also applying the term "media" is somewhat anachronistic; at the time of the murder, the primary medium for news was the printed paper, so "newspapers" would probably be a better term. The other major source of news of the time would have been the cinema newsreel. Because of the bulkiness of electronic equipment before the transistor became commercially available during the 1950's, electronic news gathering for television or radio wasn't really practical until the 1970's. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 10:56, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
