Not sure about this thing of using the archaic Irish spelling all the time, I mean we don't talk about 'Sainte Johnne Ogilvye' do we? --MacRusgail 16:59, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, all the scholars who prefer Old Gaelic names for Old Gaelic persons don't seem to believe in your parallel. Seriously though, one of the advantages of it is that it avoids giving preference to modern Scottish or to modern Irish Gaelic forms. Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 14:54, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It often seems that there is one rule for one thing, and another for a different one. Like folk who frown upon the use of "Bonnie Prince Charlie" for being a POV nickname, but don't realise that "Lenin" or "Charlemagne" are both nicknames themselves. --MacRusgail 20:23, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
