Hunter (Mj Cole Remix)[edit]

No information, on his song remixed for dido's version of Hunter. Information, could it be added if there was enough credibility/notability? Thank you. --WhiteInKnights (talk) 17:41, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Artist name[edit]

He is usually listed as "MJ Cole" (no dots) elsewhere (discogs, musicbrainz, thedjlist, ...) - should the name be updated in wikipedia? --151.53.128.35 (talk) 03:20, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is a fair point. The British Hit Singles & Albums book, generally regarded as the 'bible' of British pop music, does list him as 'MJ Cole'.

M. J. ColeMJ Cole – Never referred to with spaces or full stops. Unreal7 (talk) 22:58, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - Overwhelming evidence that the proposed move is the ubiquitous spelling. -- Netoholic @ 04:06, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Matthew James, we don't stylize, let their agents and self pub do that. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:00, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea what you just said. Unreal7 (talk) 13:29, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • In ictu oculi, it's true that we don't pay much if any attention to usage by agents and self pub. We do however pay attention to usage by reliable English sources. Very close attention, and we follow their lead. --В²C 01:06, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - We don't stylize ourselves (that would violate WP:NOR), but we do follow the usage styles in reliable sources (because not doing that would violate WP:NOR). When even the NY Times uses MJ Cole, we must as well. --В²C 01:06, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The compelling guideline here is WP:INITIALS. This says the standard period-and-space format should be avoided if the subject has a clear preference that's consistently used in the sources. In this case, sources are nearly unanimous in writing it as "MJ Cole" - I literally could not find a single one that didn't even in a search for "M. J. Cole". See also the precedent at RMs like this one.--Cúchullain t/c 21:05, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
