Mabahith is a common noun[edit]

Dear Editors the word "Mabahith مباحث" is a common noun, which means any investigation service, so it has to be specified, I suggest "Saudi Mabahith", the word Mabahith is used in several Arab countries meaning investigation service, the current title is so ambiguous--Abu aamir (talk) 08:39, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming the article[edit]

The name “Saudi Mabahith” is a generic name and it should be moved to it’s official name to (General Directorate of Investigation) [1], just like it’s Egyptian counterpart [2] Aziz bm (talk) 07:28, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:COMMONNAME. We don't use official names if in english-language sources another common name is used. In this case, English-language sources almost always call it the Mabahith. This isn't generic because it is disambiguated by the addition of Saudi. There is only one Saudi Mabahith. DeCausa (talk) 10:05, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support Saudi Mabahith: English sources generally use Mabahith for the KSA secret police, so Saudi Mabahith balances common usage, disambiguity and conciseness. Boud (talk) 13:18, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
