Fair use rationale for Image:Mallory park.gif[edit]

Image:Mallory park.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Administration.[edit]

Why no mention of the track going into administration in the past few days and all track activity suspended? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lez Watson (talkcontribs) 09:16, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shaw's Corner/The Hairpin[edit]

I have changed the prose from the original upload which read "Shaw's Hairpin". I visited Mallory from 1964 and knew this was wrong, so quickly found a 1961 race programme with a circuit map stating "Shaws Corner" (no apostrophe). Shaw's Corner, or The Hairpin, but not Shaw's Hairpin. Many other programmes are available, but unchecked as yet.

The same Shaw's Hairpin appears in File:Mallory Park track map.svg created in 2009; I've left a note for the uploader at User talk:Will Pittenger#Mallory Park who is occasionally active.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 01:38, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have now introduced a hard citation for Shaws Corner from a 1972 Race of the Year programme that I have in the house. The map is listed in contents (page numbers) as "Circuit Map" and "Inside Back Cover"; the map itself states Ⓒ Mallory Park 1968.
If there are any subsequent suggestions for Shaws Corner being renamed to Shaws Hairpin, it will need a new reference.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 12:45, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just noticed that what I know traditionally as the Lake Esses are referred to in the caption as "John Cooper Esses", whereas the website states "The Esses".--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 16:27, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
