Merge to Mamluk[edit]

I am merging in as much useful content as I can from the Mamluk identity article (revision as of today) into the main Mamluk article. As I perform this merge, I will be gradually removing content from this article, and finally will simply redirect from there to here. Let me know if there is any problem with the merge. Much of the historical content has been moved to Mamluk. Some has been placed at other, related articles. A lot of the content was of very poor quality and has been significantly edited for grammar, spelling, and historical accuracy. New citations for facts (especially dates and numbers) would be great; the best place to put those would be Mamluk. I'll continue working on this. I am considering moving Mamluk identity to Mamluk culture and keeping the "cultural" items in a separate article from the historical items. Nimur (talk) 08:44, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
After this last revision I am calling my merge complete, the remaining information does exist in other articles and is appropriately linked from the Mamluk main article. It is worth noting that the Mamluk Identity page seemed like someone had copied and pasted a large quantity of a poorly-edited school essay. Hopefully the merge cleaned up a lot of the copy-editing.
