Untitled[edit]

There were (at least) two Memucan Hunts - one was the one discussed in this article, and the other was possibly his grandson (?), and was involved in the Texas military at the time of the secession from Mexico and was later an official in the Texas government. The wiki article on the Republic of Texas mentions this younger Hunt as a vice-presidential candidate in Texas in 1841, but incorrectly points to the article about the older one (who died in 1808). I don't know how to create a disambiguation page, so I'm not sure how to fix this.

A Record of the Howard and Hunt Families, written by B.A. Howard, published 1884 Memucan Hunt Howard (1798-1886) Memucan Hunt Howard was the son of Barnett Allen Howard (1768-1824), and born in Oxford, Granville County, NC. His mother was Jane Hunt (1773-1842), the daughter of Memucan Hunt "the elder".

Memucan Hunt (1729-1808) Memucan Hunt "the elder" married Mary "Polly" Wade (1736-deceased). They were the parents of Jane Hunt who was also born in Granville County, NC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.187.121.151 (talk) 01:40, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Category:American slave owners[edit]

No mention of slave-owning. I feel that this category should be restricted to people whose slave-owning history was notable in itself. Valetude (talk) 12:14, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
