Microsoft Document Imaging does appear to allow images to be saved as a TIFF. This appears all right for black-and-white and grey-scale images. However for coloured images, the TIFF does not appear to be a standard TIFF, as it could not be recognised by other software that would normally open a TIFF image. 203.120.68.71 (talk) 21:40, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Documents to PDF[edit]

1. I have a letter, which I want to convert to PDF. The problem is that when I use Microsoft Document Imaging etc... it scans as a picture and no OCR is performed.

Different between both programs[edit]

In Office there are two programs in the Start Menu (under Tools) :-

Microsoft Office Document Imaging Microsoft Office Document Scanning

Changing pen sizes[edit]

Background: I needed to mark up .pdf mechanical drawings - highlight, type, erase etc. Process: Save .pdf as .mdi and open. Modify as necessary. Obstacle: Couldn't erase large areas efficiently because white pen size was limited in height. Workaround: Edit registry key located at [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-436374069-484763869-839522115-1004\Software\Microsoft\MSPaper 11.0\Pens\Writing\Pen4], specifically "Height"=dword:0018e700. Change from hex to decimal when editing and increase value in multiples format eg: Pen4 "Height" is 413000 dec by default.
