Date of birth and age of death[edit]

According to The New York Times, Goodman's date of birth was November 11, 1949. However, many of his obituaries, especially the one published by The New York Times, have mistakenly listed 47 to be his age. Please note that the obituaries published by The New York Times and the Associated Press mention 1949 to be the year Goodman was born, making the assumption that he was 47 at the time of his death: 1996-1949=47. Since he died on August 16, 1996, he had to have been 46 years old.Hitcher vs. Candyman (talk) 23:21, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On second thought, perhaps it is best to leave Goodman's date of birth with the year 1949 only since it is no longer shown in this source. Hitcher vs. Candyman (talk) 03:51, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive References[edit]

There are, in several cases, too many references to one fact. This is especially true where they are newspaper reports, which frequently repeat what is "on the wire", whether Associated Press, Reuters, or some other service. They do not constitute multiple verification, but only repeated references to the same report. As Wikipedia policy advises, they should be trimmed down to one or two of the most authoritative newspapers.
