Debut album or not?[edit]
Frankly, I'm not convinced it is her debut album, even though I found a reliable writer about South African musicians who clearly stated that it is her debut album. Arguments against this are that "The Many Voices of Miriam Makeba" was released by Kapp and this album and all of her albums up to 1966 were released by RCA. Clearly, she had a recording contract with RCA and had she released a record under another label, RCA would have dropped her. Maybe it's a fair statement to say that it is her debut, solo album with RCA and leave it at that. Spacini (talk) 19:43, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
"The Many Voices of Miriam Makeba", released as vinyl long play record 1960 (Kapp Records KS 3274 or KL 1274), has on the cover informative notes by Harry Belafonte which state "This is the second album by Miss Makeba ..." So even if it is not an RCA record, "The Many Voices of Miriam Makeba" is not her debut album. Karl Missouri (talk) 15:13, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
