Should be expanded[edit]

The main significance of the club does not appear here yet. One gets the idea an ordinary working man of Hamilton can run right down and join the club! This is a social center of upper class recreation. There should be another section on horsemanship at the club. If anyone dares to walk up that road we should have some photos of the golf course and club house. Bradley Palmer (founder of United Fruit) belonged and General Patton played polo here. Periodically they used to hold events of horsemanship in which British royalty participated. So, we are just getting started on this article about the central club of the North Shore, which up until about WWII, hosted some of the richest and most powerful men in the nation (some). This is a class-based institution, although now with the expansion of the Boston area commuter population into Hamilton and Wenham, is slightly more democratic than it used to be, but not really.Branigan 12:43, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
