Compatibility with Nikon F-mount lenses[edit]

Original: The F-mount adapter FT1 enables the use of all F-mount lenses especially with integrated autofocus motor.

Remarks: I have two pre-AI lenses and one (early) AI lens (all Nikon Nikkors) that do not fit the FT1.

Proposed revision: The F-mount adapter FT1 allows fully automatic operation of AF-S F-mount lenses (with integrated autofocus motor), whereas earlier AF lenses must be focused manually.

Original: It further mounts Pre-AI, AI, AI-S and E lenses without metering

Remarks: As noted above the FT1 does not mount all pre-AI lenses, and it might not mount any of them. I have several (later) AI lenses that do fit the FT1. As indicated in the Nikon lens compatibility chart, spot and center-weighted metering modes are available with those lenses, as are exposure modes M (manual) and A (aperture priority). Focus and lens aperture must of course be set manually on the lens.

Proposed revision: It further mounts most AI, AI-S and E lenses, allowing spot and center weighted metering in exposure modes M (manual) and A (aperture priority automatic).

Original: as well as lenses which jut out the F-mount (needing mirror lock-up on cameras with mirror).

Remarks: This is definitely not true of all such lenses. Deletion proposed. GilesW (talk) 18:28, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tamron[edit]

Seems they never showed up? And as they were only added on the basis of weak rumor, perhaps remove them now from the article? Mathmo Talk 07:55, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
