Topic for inclusion: NWDR's research laboratory[edit]

During its decade of operation, the NWDR had a technical laboratory that, as I understand it, played a central role in establishing standards for all public German broadcasting, and was also responsible for inventing and fostering advanced audio, radio and television technology. As an example, Dr. Herbert Großkopf (head of the laboratory) designed and patented several important types of condenser microphone that were then licensed for manufacture by Neumann and Schoeps (although Schoeps then filed his own, superseding patents for improved versions of those same inventions). As I understand it, this laboratory was essentially transferred to the IRT when the NWDR was split up in 1956. I believe that this aspect of the NWDR merits inclusion in the article.
