People living in North Tehran[edit]

I think that this section is not necessary. what's the advantage of it? Khomeini lived there for nearly 10 years because of its cleaner air in comparison to the center or south of Tehran. He was not rich or secular. This stub is really useless and I suggest to be merged into Tehran. AMERICOPHILE 02:31, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • support beacuse Shemiran isn't same as North Tehran and Shemiran is smaller than North Tehran. Please Read this. Also I live in this area-- AliReza Talk 15:00, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think what AliReza meant was to oppose the merge, and support keeping it as a separate article WhisperToMe (talk) 00:58, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I think what might help is to find newspapers in Iran and/or other countries that define "North Tehran" and "Shemiran" - See if they match and/or if the newspapers say they are the same or not. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:59, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think "North Tehran" is not correct and the correct name is "North of Tehran". The former can be translated «تهران شمالی» in Persian and the latter «شمال تهران». "North of Tehran" is an imprecise description and the area it covers is defined differently for a range of purposes. I still insist on the fact that this stub is not needed because there isn't any considerable difference between the north of the city in comparison to the south or east or west or central part. Furthermore, I think it not related to Shemiran because Shemiran is a completely different town from Tehran. AMERICOPHILE 11:35, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
