The reason why it is often confused with Onehunga is because it is part of the Borough of Onehunga.

Not sure whether this accounts for the confusion, but Onehunga used to be a separate borough, with its own borough council, before amalgamation into Auckland City's Council area in 1989.NorbertStrego 06:47, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
