Palakkayam is a wonderful area in palakkad district. One side of palakkayam is surrounded by dense forest and other side is covered by kanjirapuzha dam. Palakkayam has a population of 20000 people. Palakkayam is well blessed with a very nice climate. Beautiful shirvani dam is very near to palakkayam. There is only a few distance to shiruvani from palakkayam. Palakkayam village covers Irumpakachola, kanjirapuzha, niravu, shiruvani, cheenikkapara and edakkurussi.
