Prose Suggestions[edit]

Please note that all of these are suggestions, and can be implemented or ignored at your discretion.

  • Suggest expanding lead, perhaps mentioning his roles in the Legislative Assembly, and his roles in the succession of kings, such as suggesting Lunalilo name a successor.
  • Shortly after Kānehoa's death in 1851, he succeeded as Governor of Maui, although the position was not officially confirmed until the following year on December 3, 1852. As far as US government goes, he would have become acting Governor of Maui, rather than holding the position but waiting for confirmation (as someone else may be nominated to replace them); if this holds true for the Hawaiian Kingdom as well, suggest you add an "acting" before Governor of Maui.
  • Suggest changing the subheading "Issue of succession, 1872–1874" to "Succession crisis, 1872–1874".
  • which Nahaolelua presided over as President of the Legislative Assembly, suggest removing this bit, as it is mentioned above.
