Mary Poppins

[edit]

Mary Poppins used the sodium vapor yellow screen compositing not blue screen technology, though ultimatte did later refine blue screen with the same techniques as used on sodium vapor compositing http://www.filmsite.org/visualeffects8.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.141.157.28 (talk) 20:12, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We should have a separate article on the Ultimatte process. It really is a very sophisticated and clever technique, and solved several really tricky image processing problems in a very elegant way, made more remarkable because Vlahos orginally solved it using only the film lab technology available at the time. Its digital equivalent and successors remain in use today in modern digital film postproduction. -- The Anome (talk) 09:30, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
