Notes[edit]

Concerning the second note, it doesn't seem like a factual inaccuracy to me at all. The puddlejumper can dial the gate, yes, but it can't relay the needed energy to the gate, can it? That's why the DHD is necessary. byeee 14:10, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're half right, DHD's do provide the power for the Gate, but (As the article states) jumpers have their own DHD's. That's how they dial space gates, which have no grounded DHD's attached. JBK405 02:39, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The space gates have "power nodes" attached to them to power the gate. The jumper only has a DHD to dial the gate, not to power it. And if the Jumper dhd did power the gate, How would the power be transfered between the DHD and the space gate?

What are these "power nodes" you speak of? They haven't been mentioned anywhere in the series. Also, it's sci-fi and Ancient technology; there's no explanaton for half the stuff which happens. JBK405 08:52, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, i forgot to post the link. http://www.gateworld.net/omnipedia/technology/s/stargatepowernode.shtml the power nodes first appeared on "The Rising".

Sorry, but that page is full of no more than "apparently" and "likely," which are not acceptable on Wikipedia; it seems like conjecture (Logical conjecture, true, but still conjecture). Gateworld isn't an official web-site (Right?), so unless it can provide a source for its info (More than "apparently" anyway) it's not proper for Wikipedia. JBK405 21:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will try and find some more proof.

Ok, i found a reference to the power nodes in the Stargate_(device) section of Wikipedia. "Orbital gates are depicted without a DHD, being powered by three power nodes spaced equally along the outer ring." Heres a picture of the space gate, you will see 3 devices around the stargate, those are the power nodes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Pegasus-gate.jpg

Sorry, I don't mean to be a spoil-sport, but it's still "no." There's no source given there, either, it just says to look at the picture, which does not reveal the devices purpose. Maybe they're stabiliser rockets, receivers, or just pretty decoration. We still have nothing to say that they're for powering the Gate. JBK405 02:29, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then don't you think the reference to "3 power nodes" on the wikipedia page should be removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.7.117 (talk) 00:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Sga-s03e09-0.jpg[edit]

Image:Sga-s03e09-0.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
