[[:Image:pixar.jpg|thumb|right|250px|The Pixar logo, as attached to Monsters, Inc. trailer]] Pixar Animation Studios, most completly known as Disney/Pixar, is an award-winning computer generated imagery (CGI) animation firm based in Emeryville, California (USA). It is controlled by Disney.

It started in 1985 as The Adventures of André and Wally B. (distributed by Lucasfilm), though best known for its production of computer-animated feature films, Pixar also develops and markets high-end 3D computer graphics technology. Most notably, Pixar is the developer of the industry-standard rendering software RenderMan, which is used to generate high-quality, photorealistic images.
