The article Plumpton, New South Wales states that Plumpton, New South Wales was named because

Coursing in England was conducted at Plumpton, so that name replaced Woodstock.

Does this relate to Plumpton, East Sussex, or is it another Plumpton? Was Walter Lamb (1825-1906)from this area or somewhere else?

  • Not sure about Walter Lamb, but definitely coursing did take place in this Plumpton (see [1]) Tafkam (talk) 14:43, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
