Importance[edit]

The character and setting of Pop Tate reflects the real-life history of Haverhill, Massachusetts, in the 1930s, real places and real people... in the same sense that it's important to know that Dean Moriarty in ON THE ROAD is Neal Cassady, that Truman Capote is Dill in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, that Max Gerlach may be Jay Gatsby. This article is significant for the longevity of this comic and the recognizablity of this character, a possible inspiration for Arnold in Happy Days. Ghosts&empties 09:50, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
