Good job

[edit]
  • This is the computer I was going to order in 1977 until I saw the add for the PET. IT is sorely neglected in all the articles I've seen on these early years but it's design was obviously superior and deserves mention. Alatari 01:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VDM-1 is the first card?

[edit]

This article claims that the VDM-1 is the first graphics card, or the first S-100 card at least. Several sources state that the first S-100 graphics card is the Cromemco Dazzler. Unless good dates for the introduction can be referenced, this claim should be removed. Maury Markowitz (talk) 15:18, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are different types of video card. The VDM-1 is a monochrome character-based display card (16 lines of 64 characters with no bit-mapped graphics). The Cromemco Dazzler is a colour bit-mapped graphics display with no built-in character generator. They both seem to be the first of their respective type of video adapter. (The Dazzler was implemented as two cards.) GrahamN-UK (talk) 19:41, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
