Vandalism[edit]

"In reality, both are huge underachievers and in the long run, Texas A&M needs to stop trying to be like The University of Texas and accept it's fate as a second rate athletic program with pathetic cult like fans."

Let's face it, whoever put this on this page committed vandalism. There is really no question - I am removing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelhorn (talkcontribs)

Adjustments[edit]

As it stands, this article is in need of some post-season adjustments. In other words, Reggie McNeal's career at A&M as quarterback is over, but it currently reads as if it's not. jareha 17:18, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like this has now been taken care of. Thanks Long, Tall Texan! jareha (comments) 18:50, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citation[edit]

There are a few quotes, links, etc. that need to have citations made in keeping with good practices. Anyone want to fix that for me? I'm not sure where to begin learnign all that bit.--Long, Tall Texan 18:20, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a reference for the "most complete..." quote. What do you mean by links that need citations? jareha (comments) 18:50, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Draft position[edit]

Reggie Mcneal was drafted as a wide receiver, not a QB. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Corpx (talkcontribs) .

According to Cincinnati Bengals' site, McNeal was drafted by the Bengals to transition from quarterback to wide receiver. So feel free to change that detail in this article. jareha (comments) 02:51, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bengals roster lists him as a WR.

Vandalism?[edit]

I don't understand why there is so much vandalism on this article. The A&M article does not even get vandalized this much. Someone please explain. --Blueag9 01:58, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"McNeal's final game at Texas A&M was at home against The University of Texas on November 23, 2005, but McNeal did not play during this game due to injury to his ankle" - I dont see any bias in this....That was was his last game in an aggie uniform.....he was introduced pregame and wore an A&M jersey on the sidelines. Corpx 04:58, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
oh and can somebody please lock this article from edits from new/anonymous users? Corpx 05:00, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That wasn't the paragraph I deleted. The one I deleted was this one: "McNeal's final game at Texas A&M was at home against The University of Texas on November 23, 2005. This poor season and inconsistent play by McNeal lead to a declining stock during his senior season." The second sentence sounds a little opinionated to me. Don't you think? --Blueag9 04:33, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Blueag9 -- It's being vandalized because of the long memory of Hornfans.com, whose subscribers remember how for many years those at TexAgs.com would frequently show their respect for Reggie McNeal by talking about how terrific Reggie was in comparison to Vince Young, about how Vince Young only had a future at WR and RWAM was the true QB prospect... etc. There is a somewhat coordinated effort by the less mature to ensure that this page is always being modified. I'm somewhat embarassed by the behavior. I'd expect the Orangebloods to be above such things. Most of RWAM's problems and lack of development were not his fault (outside of, of course, choosing to attend A&M). But I hesitate to point the blame at the coaching staff as well, if only because as a true orange-blooded Longhorn fan, I hope that Franchione has a very long career as the head coach at Texas A&M. --Rimbo 17:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's opinionated to point out that RWAM's draft stock declined his Senior season; "draft stock" itself is a value judgment made by NFL teams' personnel decision-makers, and while there's no link provided, I don't think it would take a terrible amount of research to back up that statement. It's also clear to me that he never seemed to meet the promise demonstrated during his Freshman year. But then, I'm getting dangerously close to blaming the coaching staff again, and I'd hate to think that A&M would do anything to Franchione's contract other than to extend it. --Rimbo 17:38, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is Reggie still a QB?[edit]

Bengals roster, as well as the Depth Chart list him as solely WR Corpx 19:10, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's nothing now. Nobody is going to pick him up as a wr or a qb. Fringe players that cant stay out of legal trouble wont last in the NFL. Much less get 3rd and 4th chances.Palewook 11:50, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
