Moto-e[edit]

Thanks for a good start here. Perhaps, many people (like myself) want to find out additional details. (But we are not an ad website--we can avoid that). Since I may want to keep up with my wife and daughters who have either Moto-G or Moto-X phones, I'm considering what to do. For the article here, I see online info saying 'Moto-e' is available and I don't know how it fits in. Comments? -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 09:35, 3 December 2014 (UTC) -- Someone more knowledgeable could add Moto-e to the article.[reply]

Announced in May, 2014, the Moto-E (branded 'Moto e') is: "Bottom Line: Motorola’s Moto E is a smartphone shaved down to the basics, but all of the basics have been done properly. This isn’t the fastest or flashiest smartphone around, but it certainly has a whole lot of mobile smarts for its $179 price." Lot's of shiny reviews... A Moto section, or the existing Hybrid Calling section, should include some downsides, like the fact that "because the devices must be significantly modified to access seamless voice service on both Wi-fi and cellular networks, they will only work on Republic Wireless' network." Experiences with Moto-E[edit]

I just took delivery of my new Moto-E smartphone ($99) after learning about it. Thanks for a great article. I'll add content here as appropriate. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 02:55, 13 May 2015 (UTC) -- I'm seeing a good company (Republic Wireless).[reply]

See also section[edit]

Tomorrow, I'll add a 'See also' section, to aid editors and readers. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:35, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some updates needed.[edit]

Within the last few months, there have been some changes that need adding. For one, RW is now selling the Moto X 2nd Gen. phone (16Gb) for $299. (It had previously been sold at $399; the Moto X 1st Gen. was at $299: The latter may no longer be available.) Also, they have a new "Refund" plan at around $17.50 (taxes adds about $1.50/month). I'd add these things, but right now I don't have the time. Sluefoot (talk) 19:44, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lacking Fairness and Balance[edit]

This reads more like a PR piece than a Wikipedia article. No mention of the major problems that continue to plague their network and devices (and their reluctance to admit to them) nor the slow, unresponsive, and unknowledgeable support, excruciatingly slow Android OS update process, and buggy, carrier-locked phones.

Complaint[edit]

Hi all. I joined Republic Wireless as a customer. Everything seemed fine initially. Within the 14 day trial period, I realized I didn't want to switch from using my iPhone to an Android phone. I went to return the phone and found NO WAY to DO IT on their WEBSITE! AND NO PHONE NUMBER! So I went to a customer chat board. A fake customer blogged that everything was fine...it was Republic doing PR via the chat board. After several pleas for assistance, the guy fessed up and forwarded my request to return the phone to a Republic agent. First agent got it wrong. Second agent did fine. Promised to quickly process the return and refund. Today I got an email saying that I needed to start over and call the billing department. NO PHONE NUMBER GIVEN. I finally wrote and said I was going to take them to small claims for wasting so much of my time. I did exactly what they asked me to do and still have not been given a refund. It's the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE! And I am pretty easy going.
