The Evil Dead[edit]

"Ultimately, when this feature film was produced, it was a graphic horror film titled The Evil Dead, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell. Thanks to a glowing review from author Stephen King, the film was a wild success with the crowd at the Cannes Film Festival in France, despite not enamouring other critics."

Talk about understatement! This unsourced and somewhat glib paragraph makes it sound like basically an obscure turkey of a movie that only Stephen King and a bunch of Cannes judges liked. In reality, in the horror canon, it's surely at least as high-profile as The Exorcist or anything of that ilk; ask any horror fan to reel off 10 significant horror movies, and The Evil Dead is more likely than not to be in that ten. 217.155.20.163 (talk) 01:01, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
