Confusion over year of birth[edit]

According to the Times Guide to the House of Commons and contrary to news reports, he was in fact born in 1940. I will amend the article to reflect this. Dovea 09:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mace apology[edit]

For those who are interested, the Hansard report of what Brown said during his apology about the Mace incident is rather incorrect, omitting most of his unwanted comments and altering others. For example, he repeatedly said 'I grovel, grovel', and when he finally started on the apology he read out several sentences of it very grudgingly, with humorous insertions (e.g. 'I apologise to the Sergeant-at-Arms - whoever he is'). Hansard indicates that he didn't read any of it out.

I know as I have a recording of the incident on a BBC cassette. Hansard does have a policy of 'improving' speeches (mostly limited to grammatical errors). Ben Finn (talk) 18:17, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Accident causing facial disfigurement.[edit]

This happened before he joined Bruce Peebles. I believe it was when he worked for the electricity company. RichardM-north (talk) 17:55, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
