The information about the bands currently keeping the scene alive are very outdated. Missing 23rd and In Control are broken up and Arsonics aren't taken seriously. Check Nardcore for current bands.

I don't know much about the Nardcore music scene (aside from basic, common knowledge facts), but I do know that a Wikipedia article about Silver Strand Beach should contain a reference to it being the birthplace of Nardcore, with a link to the article about Nardcore, but the Silver Strand article should not morph into an article about Nardcore. It isn't necessary to mention every band, lead singer, what streets they lived on and what year they lived there... that is what the Nardcore article is for. I rewrote the Nardcore portion of the Silver Strand article to reflect that. Dcmcgov 09:15, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the Navy's Surface Warfare Engineering Facility should be mentioned, most commonly referred to as SWEF.

There is also another Silver_Strand entry, Silver Strand Beach didn't come up on a search.

Noted. I edited the link on the disambig page. Also, I don't know anything about the Navy's "SWEF" program, so although I did write the article, somebody with more knowledge of that subject matter should add it. It could just be my ignorace on the subject, but I remember hearing somewhere that the "Surface-to-air" missile program was on the Mugu portion of the base... If true, I dont think it has much bearing on the Silver Strand Beach article. Dcmcgov 09:01, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is an article about a beach neighborhood, not about a beach gang. I removed the gang-babble from the article. Save it for a gang forum. This seems to be a trend for alot of the Oxnard neighborhood articles. Nobody outside of the punks in the gang give a darn about the name of the gang, so keep it out if here.

Silver Strand Beach (Oxnard, CA) was merged into Silver Strand Beach. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 17:51, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There's a neighborhood of Oxnard and a state beach that share this name. Somehow the information about the beach got spread around between three articles:

I'd like to see the beach info consolidated in one place. - Stepheng3 (talk) 05:20, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is weak. The other is much better. It's not "The Sliver Strand". It's Silverstrand. One word and never a "The". Keep the Silver Strand Beach and spell it right.

I read someone didn't know anything about SWEF. If they live on Silverstrand they would know what it is. It's the Navy's and Dod's Nuclear Test Facility. It's also been blamed for residents illnesses and deaths due to the heavy testing that goes on there.

My family has lived there since the early 60's, making me qualified to write about Silverstrand.

I'm not finished. "Gang Babble"?? SSL is a very important part of the beach's history. It's not a gang, jeeze, where do you get your information, DMCGov??? It's people like you who don't know jack of which they speak, excuse me, write. I've lived through the SSL from the 60's until now. Surfers, not gangbangers. Nothing like what went on in the past happens now, but there's still pride in living there and if you walk around, eat at Pepe's or almost anywhere, the SSL initials abound. It should not be removed from any articles, especially from a "pastor" who has never lived life on Silverstrand. Maluka (talk) 15:40, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I get the impression that you think non-residents should avoid contributing to these articles. Is that correct? - Stepheng3 (talk) 19:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen, non-residents have no idea about life on Silverstrand. I guess you don't live there because if you did, you'd know why outsiders' opinions mean nothing. The lifestyle is complex and very, very different from even Hollywood Beach. So, to write about it, one must know of which they write, otherwise it's just another misguided opinion. Maluka (talk) 15:12, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So you believe anything an outsides does to the article will be misguided, even it's simply adding verifiable information derived from Wikipedia:Reliable sources? - Stepheng3 (talk) 04:58, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please merge these pages. Both have false information but are on the exact same topic. Note- it is "Silver Strand" as referred to in the [coastal zoning ordinance] and it is NOT in the city of oxnard. It is unincorporated and actually more adjacent to the city of Port Hueneme. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.145.220.19 (talk) 00:22, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Silver Strand Beach (Oxnard, CA) should clearly be made into a redirect and its content merged into the article Silver Strand Beach. I will go ahead and do that after I finish updating the disambiguation page. --MelanieN (talk) 02:33, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
