It seems pointless having seperate pages when Sky Mix is about to rebrand as Sky Two. I'd like to suggest that the defunct Sky 2 be dealt with briefly at the start of a combined article, then the article could go on to discuss Sky One Mix and it's evolution to Sky Mix and eventually Sky Two. -- Matthew Humphreys 14:50, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Seems reasonable to me. I vote for. --Bonalaw 08:42, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'd disagree as Sky 2 (1990s) and Sky One Mix/Sky Mix/Sky Two (2000s) are two seperate channels. Yes they are both from BSkyB and have the same names, but the original Sky 2 could be expanded with information on format, programmes, reasons for failure etc, making it a full article. If they had chosen to call the three main sky channels "Sky Alpha", "Sky Beta" and "Sky Gamma", or the original Sky 2 had been called "Sky Extra" or something then this discussion would not be happening, it is merely that they have the same names, and that is what disambiguation templates are designed for. Thanks both for the responses.
MrWeeble - you make some thought-provoking points. If there was already a full length article on the original Sky 2 showing that it's format was significantly different from Sky Mix/Sky Two I can't say I'd have suggested the merger. The only problem then would be confusion between the two, which as you say could be sorted out with a disambig. As it stands, the only substantive information on the original Sky 2 is that it ran for a year and apparently was "similar" to the later Sky Mix (I don't know how accurate that is); and the Sky 2 article only seems to have been started because of the announcement of Sky Mix's rebranding (at least that's how it looked from the history). In it's current state I'm just not sure it justifies a seperate article, but if it can be expanded that's a different matter.
Thanks again, Matthew Humphreys 10:56, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I think they should remain seperate - different channels, entirely. --Kiand 14:14, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've just seen Mr Weeble's expanded version of the Sky 2 article and it clearly was very different to the current Sky Mix/Sky Two. So I'm happy to withdraw the merger suggestion, unless anyone feels strongly to the contrary? --Matthew Humphreys 15:21, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sky Mix[edit]

Sky mix is a free to air british tv channel which is owned by sky which is launching on Wednesday 18th October 88.107.15.220 (talk) 08:05, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With the latest change (back)to Sky Mix this page has become a bit of a mess and needs updating. There are various sections/statements referring the things in the present tense which no longer reflect the present situation. 95.145.86.121 (talk) 18:01, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
