Rangoon or Bangoon?[edit]

The article notes (track 6 on the CD) to be "Bangoon" whereas I believe it's "Rangoon." Is this a mistake, or is the RVG Edition CD release a mistake? Gautam Discuss 17:35, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking at the Blue Note release (US 1987 Compact disk), which simply lists this track as "Alison's Uncle" and notes that it did not appear on the LP. This is also how it is listed at the All Music Guide.[1] The AMG also has the RVG edition listing it as "Rangoon" which at least is a real word (Rangoon? Crab rangoon!?!).[2] -MrFizyx 18:09, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, at least. Rangoon is certainly a real place, and in fact it is capital of Myanmar if memory serves me correctly. Gautam Discuss 21:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I read somewhere that Cannonball later rerecorded the track on some other album and named it Bangoon there, maybe someone can verify this? 76.240.40.85 (talk) 17:47, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Length 43:41[edit]

I don't know the policy on this, but the Length 43:41 is not correct for the original release. 43:41 includes the 1999 bonus track "Bangoon". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.185.235.228 (talk) 20:23, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bangoon "hard bop" or "bebop?"[edit]

The article notes that the bonus track "Bangoon" is "more hard bop in tone than the rest of the record," but to my ear sounds more like classic bebop, while the rest of the album is on the "cool" side of hard bop. Any experts care to revisit this? ThanksBardobro (talk) 18:18, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Start class:
  • Green tickY A reasonably complete infobox
  • Green tickY A lead section giving an overview of the album
  • Green tickY A track listing
  • Green tickY Reference to at least primary personnel by name (must specify performers on the current album; a band navbox is insufficient)
  • Green tickY Categorisation at least by artist and year

C class:

  • Green tickY All the start class criteria
  • Green tickY A reasonably complete infobox, including cover art
  • Red XN At least one section of prose (in addition to the lead section)
  • Green tickY A track listing containing track lengths and authors for all songs
  • Green tickY A "personnel" section listing performers, including guest musicians.

B class:

  • Red XN All the C class criteria
  • Green tickY A completed infobox, including cover art and most technical details
  • Red XN A full list of personnel, including technical personnel and guest musicians
  • Red XN No obvious issues with sourcing, including the use of blatantly improper sources.
  • Red XN No significant issues exist to hamper readability, although it may not rigorously follow WP:MOS
Needs to be split in more sections. Lacks prose and citations. Andrzejbanas (talk) 05:00, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
