I propose that Something Rotten! be merged into Something Rotten (musical). They appear to be about the same thing, unless I'm much mistaken. Even much of the content is duplicated. Adam9007 (talk) 01:12, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I will merge Something Rotten! (musical) into Something Rotten!. We don't need the "(musical)" at the end sine it's the first of all articles wot be title Something Rotten!. I've already started putting stuff over. --Ibottisti (talk) 01:21, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • In that case, perhaps a redirect would be more appropriate? I think the "musical" one came first, so I think it's best to wait until we hear from the author of that article. Adam9007 (talk) 01:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree (kinda) the musical one should be merged into the Something Rotten! page. Almost nothing is going to be called "Something Rotten!" so the musical page should be redirected. --Anarchyte 02:02, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Anarchyte's reasoning. --Jorm (talk) 02:04, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with the above two, in that Something Rotten! (musical) should be merged here, into Something Rotten!. Best, --Discographer (talk) 02:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Merger complete. The (musical) page has since been redirected to the Something Rotten! page. If someone could archive this merge proposal that would be great. --Anarchyte 07:01, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

External Link[edit]

It looks like the external link is no longer valid. It appears to point to 'Ubosport' or something; possibly it expired and is being cyber-squatted. Kweston (talk) 18:51, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced it with the MTI entry. -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:17, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question about list of productions[edit]

Can ALL productions of the show by people with rights to the script be potentially included in Productions? Even if it isn't an especially big production or a Broadway one? How about if it was children's musical theater (the more vulgar words sometimes replaced by "substitutes") And does this apply to Wikipedia pages for all musicals? Tw1nklechu (talk) 18:03, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Only professional productions should be listed in the Productions sections of musicals articles on Wikipedia. If you have a source that says that, for example, the show is "one of the most frequently chosen productions for children's musical theatre groups", then we could say that, but we would not list individual amateur productions. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:27, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. There needs to be something notable about the production. Like maybe a childen's theatre production if Sutton Foster was leading the production. BOVINEBOY2008 21:06, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
...and it ran for 2 years. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:42, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding info about a play currently running[edit]

I have a newspaper article about a play “Something Rotten” that is currently running. I’d like to upload the article (jpg image) so somebody can add the information to Wikipedia’s Writeup about this play. How can I upload this image? Voldan88 (talk) 01:05, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If there is a url, you can just share the link here. If not, you can just write here, on the Talk page, the author, title and date of the article, name of the newspaper and page number. How long has the revival been running, and in what theatre? If it is the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre production, then the production is not of encyclopedic noteworthiness. The productions that should be listed in the article are professional, long-running productions with notable directors and casts. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:57, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
