Would it make more sense to split this article into this article and the "St. Croix Band of Lake Superior Chippewa" article that covers the tribe's early and unified history, its loss of federal recognition and fight for existance, with a summary of the "St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Minnesota", summary of "St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin", and a summary of the St. Croix that either merged with Lac Courte Oreilles or were sent away to Gull Lake and then to White Earth? This would then free up the current article "St. Croix Chippewa Indians" to focus specifically on the Federally recognized tribe listed in the Federal Register as the "St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin", freeing the article from issues surrounding the other three groups with historical ties. Article Split, but the name was retained as the historical name was not "St. Croix Band of Lake Superior Chippewa" as they were considered the Border Sitters, but only under treaties considered the sub-band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. The modern Federally Recognized tribe's article is called St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin and no article was created for the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Minnesota.
