Untitled[edit]

Everyone, can someone help me with some information? Is Stanko from Virginia or go to high school in Virginia? I have a strange feeling we may have been friends in high school. If so, I can illuminate this article tenfold. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.79.135.239 (talk) 13:44, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paragraph 5

Stanko was released from prison in 2004 after serving 8 1/2 years of a 10-year sentence for kidnapping. While in prison, he wrote a book titled "Living in Prison: A History of the Correctional System With an Insider's View".

Paragraph 7

Stephen Stanko is currently on Death row at Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina. A date of execution has been set for October, 2007. He will have a choice of the Electric chair or Lethal injection. [8]

Partagraph 6 does not state that he was RE-arrested, so IMHO something should be corrected. exit2dos2000 04:11, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully my edits have clarified this. In 1996 he was inprisoned for kidnapping. WHile in prison he wrote a book. He was released after 81/2 years, and within one year committed the double murder. He is today on death row. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Jerry lavoie 05:05, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:StankoBook.png[edit]

Image:StankoBook.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"A great small town"?[edit]

Sounds like the Chamber of Commerce edited the intro. I'm sure Stanko wasn't great publicity for them, but a wiki article is not the way to address it. Or is this a term of art regarding urban areas? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.146.252.218 (talk) 07:56, 17 June 2011 (UTC) <!-Autosigned by SineBot-->[reply]
