Bias

This article is not very unbiased.

Passages such as "admirably enlightened" and "United States became increasingly mired in inequality at every level of society" do not speak for a neutral pov.

This whole article is a mess and sounds more like a tiring Swedish nationalistic and for some reason anti-US tirade, than am unbiased encyclopedia article. Rune X2 22:07, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree: what the has 'arguably the richest person in the world' got to mean?

Wrong Headline

This article has nothing to do with the Scandinavian movement (a movement promoting cultural pan-scandinavism and political union between Denmark, Sweden and Norway). The article is really about the Scandinavian welfare model.

Ppl and their national pride, I am a Swede... Even if you call something like... the Stockholm syndrome it doesn't mean that it don't occur in other cities. The Scandinavian countries are very similar in traditions and culture so yes its kind of an Scandinavian model. The Norweigian way is the most lucrative... But the model is called Svenska modellen. I point out that the model is not what it was but still...

WTF I am a Dane, and the problem i see here, is that this artical, is describing the scandinavian universal model, as if it was a swedish invention.

I believe the article at this point is fairly balanced, but the links should be more than simply "critical" ones (at least the person with the agenda had the decency to label it as such). The critical links should not be removed, as they are of good quality, but they should be offset by an equally competent defense of the system. Merging articles?

Oh, boy... :) This article was unsourced, POV, OR, crap full of factual mistakes and weasel words. I removed the worst parts of it (which is pretty much the whole article). I always wanted to see a good article of this topic, and of the related Social Security (Sweden) (possibly they should merge, as has been suggested). Both of them need a lot of work, but both are interesting topics with many possible references, both historical, economical and social/cultural.

Well, phew, I finally have something that I think is a decent base: User:OpenFuture/Swedish welfare system. It still requires improvement, but it's IMO much better than the current article. Unless there are major protests I'll replace this one, and rename this article in line with others to "Social welfare in Sweden". In particular finding sources in English would be a Great Thing.
