Haka[edit]

Th All Blacks now do have another haka (see http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/423466/607242) but it's only performed occasionally. Te Raparaha's "Ka Mate" is still the main one used.--Snori 10:13, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The impetus for the new haka seems to lie in the claim by te Rauparaha's descendents that they have a legal title to the haka. The rugby union decided that the AB's should have their own haka in case the court ruled in favour of the hapu. The court did not rule in their favour but the rugby union decided it would be diplomatic to recognise their moral right to the intellectual rights of the haka by paying a koha or in legal terms, an out of court settlement. The details of the settlement were never revealed.Claudia June 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.58.187.22 (talk) 22:26, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kahuroa's version of Te R[edit]

Kahuroa has removed what was an orthodox view or Te R attitude to selling land and replaced it with a version that seems inaccurate, without giving an explanation. It is clear that Te R wanted to SELL land to the NZ company at Wairau Valley. He had, prior to this, sold land to the company .The reason he was angry about Wairau was that he thought The Nz company had taken the land without paying. His complaint to Spain makes it quite clear that he wanted to sell Wairau. He thought the Nz company was cheating him out of profit. Te R was quite consistent in attitude of wanting settlers for their trade and the goods they bought. The more warlike in his tribe didnt really care if they traded or just took the settlers' goods. Maori early on developed strong liking for pork because they said it tasted like human flesh. A lot of the "conflict "in the Hutt revolved around pig stealing.Claudia July 2011 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.237.34.122 (talk) 08:44, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Claudia. Let me repeat what I and others have told you many times before: Your contributions are being reverted because they are poorly written, badly formatted and do not have reliable in-line references. Sometimes you even insert material from unnamed sources into already referenced material. You have been editing for over a year now but you are still consistently making errors like spelling mistakes in Maori names, (eg Te Rangihaeta), failing to insert spaces after fullstops and commas, and, most concerning, adding unverifiable material.
