Call me Gales?[edit]

Hello, is there any reader around who could confirm that the narrator of The Death Ship calls himself Gerard Gales? I read the book - in the German version - many years ago, but I would be nearly sure that the name Gales doesn't appear and almost completely sure that Gerard isn't mentioned anywhere. Gales (normally without the first name) is the narrator of Traven's Mexican series (The bridge in the jungle, The cotton pickers, and son on). I haven't the book here to confirm this. But as the English and the German versions are said to differ, maybe Gales does appear in the English one? Thanks Ilyacadiz (talk) 19:05, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Movie Death Ship (1980)[edit]

Should the fact that the movie Death Ship has nothing to do with this novel be mentioned?--67.16.89.114 (talk) 01:23, 21 May 2009 (UTC) That's certainly a point, especially as the Death Ship was an appalling movie. Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 23:32, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
