External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on The Dublin Gazette. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

All links to Dublin Gazette broken[edit]

All the links to the volumes of the Dublin Gazette are broken, giving 406 error code.

This is due to the Oireachtas website being misconfigured; all direct links to their digitized volumes are broken, even those they provide from their own search results. I have raised this with them in relation to volumes of statutes; they deny there is any problem, although they won't say if the links work for them.

At least some are in the Wayback Machine, but failing to load (for me at least): https://web.archive.org/web/20210527181552/http://opac.oireachtas.ie/Data/Library7/Library1/DC005246.pdf

@Technolalia: opac.oireachtas now uses https rather than http. However, the value of linking to the bound volumes (which are 1000 pages and ~1 GB) is now low, because the individual issues within the volumes can be accessed separately; I've added links to the relevant search pages instead. jnestorius(talk) 02:10, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unionist material in 1922 Iris Oifigiúil[edit]

I just added this but on reflection I've removed it again:

No notices relating to British royalty, peers, or honours were printed in Iris Oifigiúil. Although the Lord Lieutenant formally continued in parallel with the Provisional Government, his residual all-island functions, such as appointments to the Privy Council of Ireland, were only printed in The Belfast Gazette, not Iris Oifigiúil.

It seems likely to be true but I haven't read the issues (which would WP:OR in any case) much less read any secondary discussion of the matter. jnestorius(talk) 02:10, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
