Underrated?[edit]

Not sure whether I'm being pedantic but isn't it the critics' job to make sure a film isn't underrated? I'm not sure this movie counts as a minor box office success based on standard metrics[edit]

The article formally declared the movie a minor success as the box office, worldwide. The problem with this is that as far as I known back in 2003 the theaters (at least in the U.S.) would have taken half the revenue from ticket sales. Factor in an unknown marketing budget and that could amount to more then $32 million when all is said and done. This would mean the film wouldn't even break even. If the $30 million film made $32 million in the states it would need to make $45 million before marketing and with a small $2 million marketing budget that would be $47 million. That would mean the film actually lost $15 million. So unless someone can demonstrate that the film got around the 50/50 split with theaters and took in 100% of the box office with no marketing budget then film was not a minor success even if it wasn't a total bomb either so I've removed the claim it was a minor success.
