How can it be owned by teletoon[edit]

This came out in 2007, and teletoon owned the rights to it in 2010, so tell me, how is this a teletoon original production ? Raftylolis(gangster bugs) (talk) 00:20, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Raftylolis(gangster bugs), in case you're still wondering about this: there's a Teletoon logo in the closing credits, so it was originally produced in association with the channel. Mdrnpndr (talk) 15:37, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Future Is Wild (TV series)The Future Is Wild (cartoon) – The present title's parenthesis of TV series could also apply to the preceding The Future Is Wild which was also a TV series. I would suggest moving that to The Future Is Wild (documentary) if there were a need for a complimentary distinct title. Since both series were TV we should distinguish by nature (documentary/toon) or possibly year (The Future Is Wild (2007 TV series) v The Future Is Wild (2002 TV series)). • Strong oppose for two reasons: the standard disambiguation would be by year, and you have not nominated the other article for renaming. If these issues were addressed I could support a move. Mdrnpndr (talk) 15:25, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The other is a miniseries, not a TV series, and (cartoon) is an awful choice as opposed to (animated TV series). Ribbet32 (talk) 01:27, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - No good reason to change it as the original is not a television series. -- Millionsandbillions (talk) 18:36, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Future is Wild (TV series)The Future is Wild (animated TV series) – In the previous 2016 move discussion it was brought up that the original 2002 The Future is Wild was a miniseries, not a TV series, but a miniseries is still a series of episodes broadcast on TV so I don't believe "The Future is Wild (TV series)" is enough disambiguation. There is ample risk for confusion: IMDb list both the 2002 and 2007 series as "TV series" (1, 2). FilmAffinity also lists the 2002 series as a "TV series" (3). The official The Future is Wild website distinguishes the two by referring to the original 2002 series as the 'documentary' and 'documentary series' (4; no need to move that one though since it's the clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC) and the 2007 series as the 'animated kids series' and 'kids series' (5). The suggested title "The Future is Wild (animated TV series)" was brought up in the previous discussion, but was not discussed in any detail.

Per WP:NCTV, standard disambiguation would be by year, but that page also states that if that disambiguation is insufficient, something like (animated TV series) could be employed. I think it is clear that the most natural disambiguation here is that it's an animated series given that this is the distinction brought up in the majority of sources and websites (6, 7, 8, 9), rather than its release year, which will not mean much to most readers. • Although I would definitely prefer "animated TV series" over "2007 TV series" per the reasons I gave above I would not be opposed to having it under "2007 TV series" either as that is still superior to just "TV series". If there ends up being more support for "2007" rather than "animated" I suggest we launch a third move discussion (to that title) after this one. The 'is' is not capitalized at the official website of the series (link), in articles written by the creator of the series (link) or in academic sources mentioning the series (link). Ichthyovenator (talk) 22:45, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
