Talk:The Inglorious Bastards

A better translation of the title is needed. There was none there at all, so I put in the (almost certainly deficient) Babelfish translation as a temporary measure. As Inglorious Bastards gets underway, this page will be more and more referenced, and the title translation, since it's allegedly where Tarantino got his film's title, is needed.

By Wikipedia naming conventions, shouldn't this article be given the film's English-language title, that is, Inglorious Bastards? Nareek 19:20, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blaxploitation?[edit]

I removed the category, thinking I'd put it on G.I. Bro since that is the movie that fits the genre... but there is no article for that movie. Are there any plans to ad one?

Quinten references G.I.Bro in his chat with the Movies Director the film was renamed to appeal to that particular genre and market. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.232.185.58 (talk) 13:10, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

  • Support. The Disambiguation page is not needed anymore. The other film hasn't got the same title. It's called Inglourious Basterds. To have a note in each article referencing the other is enough.--Schizodelight (talk) 15:34, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - hat notes pointing readers to the other article is sufficient for disambiguation. Otto4711 (talk) 17:10, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Based on a True Story?[edit]

Is there any reliable source on this statement? Otherwise it should be deleted. --Nemissimo (talk) 10:41, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inglourious Basterds[edit]

I bought this on DVD thinking that it was the Quentin Tarantino film. Do you have any idea how stupid I felt when I put it on? --86.162.194.211 (talk) 11:38, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I imagine pretty stupid 142.51.214.162 (talk) 04:01, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Inglourious Basterds" not related?[edit]

The article says the movies are unrelated, and I know it's not exactly a remake, but Basterds is inspired in this, and I think it should be changed. Source: the Basterds' special edition dvd interviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.142.93.112 (talk) 03:33, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hell's Heroes[edit]

Wasn't the 1987 film Hell's Heroes released as Inglorious Bastards 2: Hell's Heroes? Charles Essie (talk) 23:15, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Captured German deserter should not be referred to as "Nazi"[edit]

This is a rather blithe approach to conflate German soldier and Nazi; yes, some German soldiers were card-carrying Nazis, but not all. Just like all German soldiers weren't SS. Deliusfan (talk) 04:14, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a good article for reference: https://www.infobloom.com/were-there-non-nazi-german-soldiers-in-wwii.htm Deliusfan (talk) 04:32, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
