Set in Rome, but filmed where?[edit]

It would be nice if the article explained where the series was filmed. Sure, it was set in Rome, but was it filmed there, or merely in the Los Angeles area? Prior American TV series precedents that would've faced this question include The Flying Nun, set in Puerto Rico but simply filmed around Los Angeles, and, on the other hand, Maya, set in India and actually filmed there.
