Fair use rationale for Image:Ultramanburns.jpg[edit]

Image:Ultramanburns.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Which Ultraman is which?[edit]

I need to check the reference, but I believe the assumption that the Ultraman shown in Brave & the Bold #11 is the anti-matter Ultraman is in error. --Joe Sewell (talk) 16:33, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I verified that the story does not mention a "new anti-matter Ultraman," simply that this is Ultraman, the evil Superman. Since he is powered by the yellow sun, not by anti-Kryptonite, and since the costume matches the Earth-3 Ultraman, I've rewritten the section to remove the waffling about the anti-matter Ultraman. --Joe Sewell (talk) 16:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I type corrected; the verbage above the character's logo on the splash page does indeed give the background of the Anti-Matter Ultraman, even though every other speck of evidence (except for the "Crime Syndicate" mention) says this should be the Earth-3 guy. Whether I agree with it or not is another story, and not part of being "encyclopedic." I've restored the essence of the original text, although I've rephrased it slightly to make it (hopefully) more clear and organized. My apologies. --Joe Sewell (talk) 00:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On a slightly different note, what is the evidence that the Ultraman in Final Crisis is different from the Earth-2 version? He's clearly made of anti-matter. If none follows, I'll just merge the two sections (Smallvillefanatic (talk) 04:19, 16 June 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

I've changed it until someone finds some evidence to the contrary (Smallvillefanatic (talk) 15:13, 18 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Is Superman: Doomsday Really A Version of Ultraman?[edit]

I'm wondering if the overly-detailed synopsis of Superman: Doomsday in the Other Media Appearances section belongs in the Ultraman entry? Ultraman is not anything close to being a law-and-order kind of guy, and the Superman clone, while certainly sharing Ultraman's lack of caring about killing people, is still about trying to help the greater good as evidenced by the character's dying wish that Superman protect the people. The Superfriends episode 'Universe of Evil' had an evil Superman more in line with Ultraman than this diret-to-DVD movie does, and there's no mention of that in the other media section. Thanks. Starmiter (talk) 13:36, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, should the Media Adaptations of Ultraman section be removed entirely? Ultraman's personality is to be cruel, and use his powers to further criminal activity - none of the examples cited did this (they were vicious, yes, and some were cruel, however, they were all still planning to do things for a greater good). The only one that comes close isn't even cited here, which is the evil Superman from the old Superfriends episode Universe of Evil. Thanks Starmiter (talk) 23:16, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
2¢ or so...
Has there really been an adptation of Ultraman at all?
The closest I can think of is the JLU episodes, and that's more to do with reading, IIRC, that the show's writers and producers wanted to use the CSA, but were not allowed to use the names or exact likenesses or exact origins.
Every thing else is, bluntly, "evil Superman", something that Ultraman, at least by some writer's pens, moves beyond. - J Greb (talk) 23:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ultraman (comics)Ultraman (DC Comics) – per WP:NCCDAB NeoBatfreak (talk) 23:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. There are multiple "comics" things at Ultraman (disambiguation), and this incompletely disambiguated title should redirect there. The proposed title is the standard way to distinguish comics characters. 50.248.234.77 (talk) 11:51, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
