Proposing new draft[edit]

Hi there! On behalf Uproxx Media Group, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I have written an updated draft seeking to clean up and improve the current article. The draft is saved in my user space here: User:16912 Rhiannon/Uproxx Media Group and you can see the changes compared to the current article in this diff

This draft aims to resolve issues in the current article including:

  • Trimming down the over-detailed introduction and moving information into the body of the article, as appropriate
  • Providing a better sourced and more thorough history and overview of the company
  • Improved flow
  • Addressed unsourced content throughout

My aim was to keep the draft neutral, concise and encyclopedic, avoiding promotional content. Of course, since I have a financial COI, I'm eager to get uninvolved editors' input to make sure that the content follows all guidelines. I'm also wondering if editors would be in favor of moving the article to Uproxx Media Group, or if this is too soon following the renaming.

I'm hoping to find editors to review the proposed draft and copy it over appropriately, as well as consider moving the page. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 03:41, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Worldbruce: Wondering if you'd be interested to review my proposed draft: I see you reviewed the original AfC submission and have been active on the article since, fixing various issues. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 19:34, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also pinging @SW3 5DL and Btphelps: back in late 2015 / early 2016 you both reviewed my then-colleague's proposed new draft for Uproxx founder Jarret Myer, I was wondering if either of you would be interested to take a look at this new draft for Woven Digital / Uproxx Media Group? Thanks in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 19:02, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much to Majora for reviewing the draft and taking it live (with some edits that look reasonable to me)! I'm working on getting a logo file to upload and I just found a new source that was just published, so I'm checking it over to see if there's any new information that can be added. If you don't mind, I may ping back here for your help once I've done that. Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:50, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@16912 Rhiannon: Is this the logo? If so it doesn't qualify for copyright protection and can be uploaded at any time. Let me know and I can upload it for you. --Majora (talk) 03:02, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Majora: So, that file is for the Uproxx brand, rather than Uproxx Media Group -- the Media Group logo is a variation on that one. I've uploaded it here: File:Uproxx_Media_Group_Logo.png Would you be able to add it to the infobox? I've been traveling, so I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:55, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I added it. Just a note though, the logo itself does not qualify for copyright protection in the United States and is considered in the public domain. I changed over the tags on the file information page to reflect that. --Majora (talk) 23:37, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Additions based on new source[edit]

Thanks, Majora! The logo looks great; I'd always rather err on the side of caution when it comes to logos and upload as fair use, so thanks for changing the tags over for me. Previously, I'd mentioned a new source for the article, an LA Times piece that was recently published; I've now read through and have a couple of suggestions for new information that can be added:

  • Addition for end of first paragraph under Operations: The Culver City offices house a full production studio staffed by writers, illustrators, presenters and video editing staff; the company produces all of its own sponsored videos.
  • Addition for the end of Original programming: Uproxx has also partnered with the United States Marine Corps to create sponsored content.

Here's a full citation for the new source, in case that's helpful: <ref name=LATimes17>{{cite news |title=Uproxx Media works with brands to make ads millennials actually want to watch |author=Ethan Varian |url=http://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/la-fi-ct-uproxx-ads-20170711-story.html |work=[[Los Angeles Times]] |date=July 11, 2017 |accessdate=17 July 2017}}</ref>

If these suggestions look ok, would you be able to add them? The LA Times piece is also a good citation to add for the existing content, if you feel these additions aren't appropriate. Thanks again! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 18:53, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A quick note that I've separated the request for additions based on the LA Times source out from the original request and added a new edit request template. Appreciate any help with reviewing and making these additions, if appropriate. Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 18:59, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect To Uproxx Page[edit]

Hello! On behalf of Uproxx, of which I am an employee, I'd like to request a redirect of the Uproxx Media Group page to the Uproxx page. After the acquisition of Uproxx by Warner Music Group, "Uproxx Media Group" is no longer the used name of the company - the homepage of Uproxx Media Group redirects to uproxx.com. This redirect would help users find the most accurate information and reduce redundancy of pages.

Thanks in advance!
