Images?[edit]

Why bother have an image column, if there aren't any? --MicahBrwn (talk) 02:01, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There were images for most types until about yesterday. Then some overzealous Commons administrator decided that all images of license plates were copyright violations and deleted hundreds of them en masse. Qqqqqq (talk) 02:26, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's just stupid. Can we get them back? MicahBrwn (talk) 22:43, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure. They apparently can't be hosted at Commons (where most of them had been hosted) since they're fair-use (theoretically copyrighted by the respective states), and nearly every fair-use image of a license plate hosted on Wikipedia is nominated for deletion at some point—which I'm usually able to argue against— and tagged as not having sufficient fair-use rationale for inclusion in an article about said license plates. DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -> WASHINGTON, DC[edit]

Currently, this article states that, for July 2013 - present, EK-0000 to FN-9999 read DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA at the top and TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION at the bottom. However, somewhere in the FN series, that changed. I've seen early FN series plates that do appear this way, but I've also seen at least FN-4000 series plates read WASHINGTON, DC at the top and the new tag line END TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION at the bottom. I'm not sure exactly where in the FN series this switchover occurs.

Move to District of Columbia[edit]

The page name should be Vehicle registration plates of the District of Columbia, just like the other units of the federation.186.46.198.162 (talk) 22:59, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
