Authenticity[edit]
The reference V. Kanakasabhai (1997). The Tamils Eighteen Hundred Years Ago. Asian Educational Services. ISBN 8120601505 appears to be a genuine, if old-fashioned book, and describes the Villavar as an ancient tribe of archers. It doesn't seem to be a hoax.
