"Tees Valley Line"[edit]

Simmo676. Are you sure that the Darlington - Bishop Auckland line is known as "the Tees Valley Line"?. I always thought that the Darlington - Barnard Castle line (closed 1965) was the Tees Valley Line. regards. Bob BScar23625 05:10, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the fact that the Tees Valley Line article refers to the line between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn, I took this as what the section of line is called when updating it. If it was called something previous in the past and the diagram should be referring to its past appearance (or if the TVL isn't in fact that long) maybe something else might be more appropriate than labelling it as the TVL. --Simmo676 16:18, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?[edit]

Ian Allan was a director of WRL from 25/10/1993 to 29/08/1995. I don't think he took an active role in WRL at any stage. The Allan family and their group of businesses (Ian Allan Publishing being one group member) are fairly ubiquitous in the railway enthusiast fraternity. So, I don't see anything incongruous in the railway receiving an Ian Allan award. BScar23625 (talk) 13:15, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Class 37 Group[edit]

One small point concerning recent edits. I believe that the dispute over site access with Weardale Castings had started before the C37 group came to the line. The C37 locos came to the site by use of an improvised exchange siding at Wolsingham station and not through the Weardale Castings site. So, I don't think it is fair to attribute the increasing restrictions on access as being wholly due to Weardale Castings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.64.199.97 (talk) 08:41, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1988-1993[edit]

I have made various changes today. These principally reflect the changes for the 2013 season i.e. the effective end of the "regular" passenger services. Also to acknowledge that between 1983 and 1992 BR with Durham County Council operated excursions and then scheduled weekend services to StanhopeRobertforsythe (talk) 10:59, 5 May 2013 (UTC).[reply]
