who cares about a freaking mall? I would understand if there was some story of value behind this crap, but "then burlington closed and target took the space, blah blah blah..."

this is exactly why people think wiki is full of crap.

People have cared enough about malls to add 50 other articles about them in California alone - see Category:Shopping_malls_in_California. Malls are local employers, local destinations, and for better or for worse help define communities. They are also interesting from a real estate P.O.V. For example, someone cared enough about Westgate to spend $97M to buy it not too long ago. Clearly this article could be improved, but it has some value as is.
