Very much written like an ad[edit]

This entire article is written like an ad. Most of it is unsourced opinion, and what little is sourced is usually sourced using the subject's own web page. Jeppiz (talk) 09:52, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

More than one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the subject, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:59, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Edits on August 29, 2019[edit]

Hi all!

I've done cleanup on the article for now mostly on WP:MOS and other information. I've removed the other bills filed section since most of the bills I have checked were not made by Mr. Gatchalian only but was also made by other senators with these bills similar to the bills listed in the article[1]

I would also like to note if wingatchalian.com is a reliable source. Most of the initial references cite this website which I believe to be WP:QUESTIONABLE and WP:RSSELF.

Please let me know your thoughts on this! Markoolio97 (talk) 07:49, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Edits on August 31, 2019[edit]

Hi All!

I have added small tags and columns-list to help tidy up the article. I did not remove most of the sections as of now per the discretion of User:SSTG but instead I removed some details especially on the First 10 Priority Bills and Awards sections which were overexpanding the sections with mostly trivial information. Given the Manual Of Style in which the article should be written in an encyclopedic manner, information should be kept short and simple. This article need not be a one-stop shop for information but rather an aid for further research by the readers.

Let me know your thoughts on this! Markoolio97 (talk) 05:43, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image[edit]

I don't want an edit war over this, and I apologize. But I still think that the previous photo (left) is better than what SSTG prefers (right). I would like to build a consensus regarding the primary image on the infobox.

The photo of the subject on the left is arguably better because it portrays the subject in a more natural setting than on the right which is staged (and seems to be a product of a photo studio). Remember this is a online encylopedia article and not an advocacy page, surrogate political profile page for Gatchalian. The photo on the right would be tolerable if there are no available free image in Wikicommons, but there is. I would like SSTG or any other editor to air their side why they prefer the photo on the left.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:46, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agree Given that the image on the left is the most recent available image of Win Gatchalian as senator. Do note that there are other available images of the subject in his work enviroment that are of higher quality yet these are taken during his second term as Representative. Markoolio97 (talk) 02:29, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for User:SSTG for at least following the discussion and they have changed the image accordingly. But still another freely available image where the subject's face is fully visible and facing forward rather him facing sideways would be better. I suspect the image was selected due to the presence of the Congress seal but remember the main subject is Senator Gatchalian himself. I think the newer image added by SSTG would be helpful if placed beside the "Senator (2016-current)" section instead. I would still strongly recommend my earlier proposal or any similar and recent photo of him.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 17:23, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
