Proposed merge of Wootton, Isle of Wight into Wootton Bridge

This seems pretty obvious but I thought it might be worth discussing.

Wootton is the common name, and Wootton Bridge is the formal name, but there is nothing in either article that could not sensibly appear in the other. As Wootton Bridge is a unique name, and there are quite a few other Woottons elsewhere, Wootton Bridge seems the sensible choice to be the main article, and a redirect can remain at Wootton, Isle of Wight. I have now added many more references for this article to a variety of reliable sites, as well as adding access and retrieval dates to existing references. Most facts in the article now have references to support them. As this has now been done, I have removed it from 'Category:Unreferenced Isle of Wight-related articles'. Any chance of a reference for the formal name being 'Wooton Bridge' rather than just 'Wooton?' I might not have looked properly, but I couldn't see one... --Peeky44 (talk) 09:27, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Which churchyard?

"Victorian admiral Sir John Baird, who died in 1908, is buried in the churchyard in Wootton Bridge." The article mentions two churches in the parish. It does not mention the Methodist church. It should be made clear which of these houses the admiral. TheMadBaron (talk) 02:34, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Move from Wootton Bridge to Wootton, Isle of Wight

The article was moved without discussion to Wootton, Isle of Wight. I'm fairly sure that this should at least have had a discussion and maybe a vote, because it's certainly something that has caused contention in the past. Naturenet | Talk 11:12, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
