a student needing help

im doing a huge comparison report containing many paragrqaphs comparing youth criminal justic act and the Adult Criminal Law... but im finding the information confusing and in large amounts... can you give me clear comparisons between these 8 parts:

level of Goverment reponsible aims pre-trial rights trials for offences sentencing post sentencing involvment of the courts approach for seriouse offenders, and finally criminal records

if someone could help me it would be greatly appretiated!

thank you.

Issues with your questions

1) If you want help, ask a teacher or someone. Wikipedia is not a place for people to help you with projects.

2) If you have a comment and want help addressing it, you need to sign your article and usually create an account. Ip: 68.145.86.152 is not the best way for me to know who to reply to.

3) This article seems to parapharase the act, it is not paragraphs from it, so I do not understand your issue. The statement indicates that the government that is charging the youth, i.e. federal, provincal, chooses punishments and what to do with the records of the youth afterward. --Kirkoconnell 16:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Presumptive Offences

I see that a number of new editors have decided to improve this article. I'm very impressed, and I look forward to seeing what the end result will be. I noticed, however, that there is some mention of presumptive offences. If they are going to be talked about in this article, I think it is important to also note the court rulings on the constitutionality of presumptive offences, in order to give the reader the most accurate picture. responsehi there, yes this is a component of our summer university course where our instructor decided that we as a group should update this page for a component of our youth justice course grade. veronf (talk) 27 July 2009

thanks for noticing all the updates singularity42 -- i hope you're not overwhelmed. Students of SOC 310 hope you like the changes -- but we are also looking for feedback (this is also part of the assignment)

Interesting. I'll be sure to give some feedback afterwards. I work heavily in this area, and in my free time I try to keep some of these pages updated. This article has always needed some much needed work. But I'll probably wait until some of the editing dies down before making too many comments or making any changes.
By the way, to reply in a Talk page, just indent your reply by one more indent than what you are replying to. You can indent by putting a ':' before the content you want to indent. Each additional ':' will add an additional indent. And remember to sign off your talk page comments by typing four tildes. Singularity42 (talk) 21:08, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup needed - August 2009

Looks like all the editing has now died down. On the plus side, lots of good, useful content. On the negative side, a lot of inconsistency. Here's what needs to be done (feel free to add to the list):

  • Reduce the repetitiveness. This is a major issue - a lot of information is repeated throughout the article for no reason. The article is already on the lengthy side, so this should be the priority.
  • Formatting - headlines. I think the article can be formatted in a way to make the headlines and sections more effective (I'm already working on this). Done.Singularity42 (talk) 17:20, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Formatting spacing and lists - this is fairly inconsistent throughout the article.
  • Copyediting - the usual (typos, spelling, grammer, etc.).

I'm already working on some of this, and will probably have something posted later this week. However, in removing the repetitive information, some editors are going to lose their contributions. Since this appears to be a class project in editing, I strongly suggest the recent editors collaborate together to see what can be merged together. Singularity42 (talk) 00:56, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I've made changes to some of the formatting, but this article still needs a lot of work. I've added some cleanup templates to the big problem areas.Singularity42 (talk) 17:20, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Is it just me or does the page read like a reprint of the YCJA? WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 12:18, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's just a reprint, but you are absolutely right that this article needs work and simplification. I took a stab at it a while back, but have since run out of time. Hopefully other editors can take a look and cleanup this article. Singularity42 (talk) 18:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Almost all references are broken

Justice appears to have changed their permalink structure... and helpfully without any programmatic redirects...

So almost all of the citations are 404ed. I fixed one before realizing this. Blah.

--dphrag (talk) 20:30, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I fixed a lot of the criminal law related articles due to the change in web structure on the DoJ's website. I'll work on this one next week (unless someone beats me to it). Singularity42 (talk) 00:39, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
I think I fixed the first 14 refs or so.. there seems to be a tremendous amount of duplication. Maybe I'll push through some more if I'm bored... --dphrag (talk) 01:29, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Youth Justice Services Funding Program

There's no mention of the Youth Justice Services Funding Program (should this be a separate article?). Here's a few sources about it:

If nobody else works on this, I may give it a shot, but not anytime soon. Mindmatrix 17:29, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
